Directories with Travel links

The following directories offer listing of travel sites. The PR is the pagerank (as measured by the Google toolbar during Aug 2005) for the highest level Travel category. Free listing means that the directory does not ask for anything in return, not even a reciprocal link. Most directories use human editors to check the quality of sites listed in the directory.

	Yahoo PR: 7. US$ 299 non-refundable annual fee. The mother of all internet directories. A very large directory with lots of categories and high page rank. Does offer free website submission but very unlikely to get listed.
	Open Directory PR: 7. Free listing, takes about a year to get listed. A very large directory with lots of categories. The directory categories are maintained by volunteers but there is very little openness about the activities of the volunteers.
	Looksmart PR: 7. Free listing via Zeal. This site uses redirect links so doesn't pass PR. Apparently, the search services of Lycos and Inktomi use Looksmart.
	Travel Library PR: 7. Some sections offer free listing, takes about one month to get listed. An attractive site that offers travelogues and links to other travel sites.
	Pictures of Places PR: 6. Free listing but very slow Directory of sites offering photos of interesting locations.
	Travel Directions PR: 5. Free listing, very quick. Small and attractive travel directory.
	I Love Parks PR: 5. Free listing, site hasn't been updated for a while. Contains a directory of sites about US and international parks.
	India Focus PR: 5. Free listing, takes a few days to get listed. A directory for sites about India.
	Car rentals travel directory PR: 5. Free listing, takes a few days to get listed. Probably has too many sub-categories but otherwise a useful directory.
	All Links PR: 5. Takes a couple of days to get listed.
	World parking travel directory PR: 5. Free listing, takes a couple of days to get listed. Similar directory structure to the Car rentals directory.
	Resource Help directory PR: 4. Free listing, takes one day to get listed. Has a category on national parks.
	Search Sight PR: 4. Free listing, takes less than a day to get listed. An attractive and well laid out directory. Shows a thumbnail image for each site listed.
	Atlas travel directory PR: 4. Free listing, takes a few days to get listed. A good looking travel directory.
	Stormer Network PR: 4. Free listing, takes a few days to get listed. There are no sub-categories to their Travel category. The travel sites are all listed on one page.
	Linketeria PR: 4. Free listing, a few days to get listed. There are no sub-categories to their Travel category. The travel sites are listed over 17 pages.
